Nicolas Auvray, born in France where he first began his management studies, settled in New York in 2005 after numerous trips that took him to the four corners of the planet: United States, China, Austria, Australia, Singapore.... He has been practicing photography for 25 years, first as a passion before making it his profession. He studied at the International Center of Photography (I.C.P.) in New York where he still cooperates as an assistant to master shooters.
He uses for his shootings analog cameras of medium format or camera. He continues to prioritize the traditional darkroom and draws his own images in black and white. After a few exhibitions in New York, the Parisian exhibition «Attractions Nocturnes» marks an important step for his work.
His photographs are in private collections and entered the collection of the Bibliothèque nationale de France in 2015. The BnF is one of the major collections of photographs and prints.
